Amaru is a previously New York City, Nairobi and Kampala based Award-winning Singer and Songwriter from Uganda, for whom music is more than a cherished lover and old friend. Passionately performing songs mostly about love, self discovery and freedom, mostly written English, sometimes fused with bits of Alur, Lugbara and Kiswahili, Amaru hopes through her music, to inspire her audiences to feel deeply and sincerely; to brave places they previously feared, to begin to experience healing and find the courage to love wholeheartedly.
